Con solo diecinueve años, Alice Minta (Scorpa) ocupa actualmente la cuarta posición en la clasificación del campeonato y, en solo su tercera temporada en la categoría, está a seis puntos de la tercera posición después de tres rondas y seis días puntuables.

Este buen inicio de temporada se ha visto recompensado con dos podios, tras ser tercera en la segunda jornada en Portugal y de nuevo en la jornada inaugural en Japón. El resultado en Gouveia fue especialmente dulce, ya que se trataba de su primera visita al cajón en TrialGP Femenino. "Estaba entusiasmada", dijo. "Para ser sincera, lo necesitaba. Sabía que podía estar arriba en el podio, pero el día anterior no fui lo suficientemente consistente”.

"En realidad no estaba contenta con mi actuación el día que subí al podio. Creo que se redujo a los últimos cinco tramos. Mi hermano me dijo que si realmente quería estar en el podio tenía que limpiar todas las secciones restantes y eso es lo que hice y creo que estuve a dos marcas del cuarto puesto."

Minta debutó en Trial2 Femenino en 2019 y tuvo un impacto inmediato, solo perdió el título ante la alemana Vivien Wachs en un desempate. "Me sorprendió cuando empecé a conseguir podios enseguida porque había pilotos que llevaban mucho tiempo en esa categoría, así que no pensé que fuera a ganarles. Después de esa primera ronda supe que podía hacerlo, así que hice mi año en 2019 y subí directamente".

La pandemia en 2020 hizo que el calendario del Campeonato del Mundo fuera severamente abreviado y Minta optó por sentarse antes de hacer su debut en la clase máxima al año siguiente, cuando inmediatamente impresionó, terminando la temporada en un fuerte séptimo lugar. "Creo que hice un par de quintos y hubo un noveno que no me gustó, pero no se puede ganar todo. La capacidad es definitivamente mayor, pero sigue siendo un gran juego mental y de lo que se trata es de mantener la cabeza. Eso es lo que he descubierto este año".

A finales de 2021, después de ayudar a su país a quedar segundo en el Trial de las Naciones, se rompió el ligamento cruzado anterior cuando participaba en el campeonato británico, lo que le impidió disputar gran parte del año siguiente, pero sus resultados en lo que va de 2023 hablan por sí solos.

A este nivel, la ambición es vital -hay que poner el listón muy alto para progresar en una categoría tan competitiva-, aunque de momento Minta se centra en un objetivo mucho más accesible. "Quiero ser campeona del mundo, pero me encantaría convertirme en piloto oficial. Esa ha sido mi ambición desde el primer día y no creo que esté lejos de conseguirlo. Me gustaría pilotar a tiempo completo, pero de momento no es posible".
