Con más de tres décadas de experiencia en competición y más de 126 títulos mundiales de Enduro en su palmarés, KTM es una de las firmas de referencia en el off-road. Y en su nueva gama 2024, las EXC vuelve a subir el listón en cuanto a prestaciones, desarrollo e innovación con su transformación más importante hasta la fecha. Lo cierto es que la nueva gama KTM de enduro supone la culminación de muchos años de trabajo en competición, desarrollando un perfecto equilibrio entre prestaciones, ergonomía y tecnología.

El último grito

El chasis hidroformado, cortado a láser y soldado mediante robot forma la espina dorsal de la gama KTM Enduro 2024. Esto aporta nuevos parámetros de flexión longitudinal y torsional, una gran absorción de energía y una excelente estabilidad en línea recta.

En la parte delantera, las gamas KTM EXC y EXC-F cuentan ahora con una horquilla WP XACT de muelles de cartucho cerrado de 48 mm totalmente nueva, que incorpora un nuevo concepto de pistón de la válvula intermedia que optimiza el flujo de aceite dentro del cartucho. Siguen incorporando el probado sistema de amortiguación progresiva PDS, actualizado y optimizado en 2024 para funcionar con mayor fluidez con el nuevo concepto de chasis, acoplado a un nuevo amortiguador WP XPLOR PDS. Ambas suspensiones siguen siendo totalmente ajustables en amortiguación de la compresión y la extensión mediante mandos manuales, sin necesidad de herramientas, y con la precarga fácilmente ajustable en la parte trasera.

El subchasis trasero está fabricado en 2 piezas, combinando poliamida y aluminio reforzado. Todos los componentes electrónicos, incluida una unidad de control off-road totalmente nueva, están totalmente integrados en el subchasis para facilitar el acceso y mejorar su protección.

Por su parte, el guardabarros delantero ahora también incorpora unas aletas repelentes de barro para evitar que la suciedad y el barro vayan a parar al piloto o los radiadores, mientras que los nuevos depósitos de gasolina de 8,3 litros - 4 tiempos - y 8,9 litros - 2 tiempos - de polietileno transparente (XPE) para un fácil control del nivel de gasolina completan el conjunto de la carrocería.

El control de la electrónica está a cargo de una OCU totalmente independiente situada bajo el asiento, que elimina el uso de fusibles electrónicos y relés. En caso de fallo de algún componente eléctrico, las conexiones se desactivan individualmente, indicando el estado de error de cada unidad mediante una luz LED roja o verde. Esto facilita y agiliza la resolución de problemas sobre la marcha.

Motores 2 Tiempos

En cuanto a los propulsores, la gama de modelos de 2 tiempos estrena una nueva tecnología de inyección electrónica en el cuerpo de aceleración. Denominado TBI para abreviar, este sistema proporciona más suavidad en la entrega de potencia al nivel de un carburador, eliminando a su vez la necesidad de reajustar la carburación según la altitud.

La admisión por láminas también ha recibido una importante actualización de diseño, con nuevas aletas de plástico en el exterior para mejorar el sellado del conducto de admisión. Este nuevo diseño evita el exceso de gasolina en tramos extremos de subida o bajada, lo que podría provocar una carburación excesivamente rica. Un efecto beneficioso de la nueva inyección electrónica y de la unidad de control del motor es la implementación del nuevo control electrónico de los gases de escape, que permite dos mapas de motor diferentes, seleccionables mediante un interruptor de cambio de mapa opcional.

Motores 4 Tiempos

Todos los modelos de la gama de 4 tiempos han conseguido mejorar el centro de gravedad inclinando el motor hacia atrás y reposicionando el piñón de ataque 3 mm más abajo, para mejorar el comportamiento y la manejabilidad. Junto con las ventajas de la centralización de las masas y la reducción del peso, se he mejorado el comportamiento antisquat de la parte ciclo mejorando la tracción en inclinaciones extremas y potenciando la salida de las curvas.

También estrenan opcionalmente Control de Tracción y, por primera vez en una máquina de enduro, una función Quickshifter. Esto último permite subir de marchas sin embrague de 2ª a 6ª, para que el piloto pueda mantener el puño del acelerador abierto a tope en todo momento para un mejor control. Estos sistemas pueden activarse o desactivarse mediante un interruptor de cambio de mapa opcional de nuevo diseño.
